Its aallliiiiiive!

That's right, the camera is alive, revived, reanimated, resurrected... whatever you like. Funny thing is, there didn't really seem to be anything wrong with it. Maybe I just needed to show it I loved it enough to take it to the camera hospital...Because cameras have feeeelings man. As it was, I took it to a camera shop, the helpful but somewhat resigned ("if it doesn't turn on there's not much I can do...") man tried a different set of batteries. Those didn't work. Then he tried another brand new fresh set... and the lens whirred out (with the faint grinding sound of what I'm sure is sand stuck in some mechanism), he even took a picture. Put my own batteries back in and... it still worked. So I don't know. Wasn't it's time yet I guess.
We went to a work party out at Terrell Creek. That's the BP plant. You can see the lights and steam from the arboretum behind the university, and its a good 10-15 miles away.

 We saw this handsome fellow on the way in.

                                                                                  This is a long-toed salamander. Someone found it while digging a hole. Of course I then wandered around showing it to my friends...
That's Annitra, she's certifiably splendid.

 Every once in a while I go on baking sprees. Last time I mentioned making bagels, and they were damn delicious, so I decided to make some more. They aren't exactly perfect and round like fancy bakery bagels but... meh. My stomach doesn't care about shapes!

 
Cinnamon rolls! I've always wanted to make them, and while I can produce some smashing sticky buns, they're just too sweet for everyday consumption. Not that the powdered sugar glaze helped. But mmm mmm goodness hot from the oven!
