Hey its September already...

"Hey Phoebasaurus, what's up?"
"Oh you know, applying for jobs, hoping for the best"
"So what do you do in the meantime?"
"...Read books of dubious quality that you can buy for Kindles for just $1 on Amazon..."
"SO WHY HAVEN'T YOU WRITTEN ANY BLOGS IN THE LAST 10 WEEKS?"

The answer is because I got pretty burnt out, in general, and am having a hard time finding motivation for such serious tasks as 'finding a job' and ' figuring out what I want to do with my life' et. al. So. Having received my fourth rejection email this week today (only a few short hours after I applied, because qualifying for federal jobs due to academic achievements doesn't actually mean anything...), I figured, hey, maybe I should do something more positive with my time!

So we're going to reach back allllll the way to July, when the blog-silence began. When Martha migrated through the region, shortly before taking off for Thailand, where by all accounts she seems to be having a blast.
We stopped on the way home at a U-Pick out in the county, and Martha marveled at the size of the raspberries.

Shortly after that visit, Brandon and I went on a hike up Sauk Mountain, a hike reputed for its displays of wildflowers, and it did not disappoint.

We saw hoary marmots and pikas! Both firsts for me, so a good day!

 Look at their fuzzy faces!

Sorry if the formatting is weird, sometimes the there isn't anything I can do about it.

Unfortunately my camera has slowly been puttering out. It's white balance is even more messed up, and there's something seriously wacked with the sensor so the brightness/contrast is shot. And as per the usual, took it in and it behaved perfectly whilst in the hands of the camera experts. Most of these were taken with Brandon's phone. You can see some of the weird in the butterfly pictures especially. Oh well.
Happy Trails!
